Why is NOW The Time? In light of the imminent Return of Jesus Christ, it is time for the Church to unify for action. We are challenged to move beyond our secondary differences to pursue God’s primary purpose of demonstrating the love of Christ to New York City and beyond. NOW is the time for God’s people to awaken to the urgent call to unite in prayer and to serve Christ by serving others. NOW is the time f or New York to see Christ through the visible unity of His body, the Church.

What is "NOW Is The Time"? “NOW Is The Time” is a 40-Day ministry initiative in which Christians in the Greater New York Area will collaborate to:

     • Pray For Revival and Awakening.

     • Engage Scripture and increase bible literacy, and

     • Serve The Community in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to see Followers of Christ mobilized to pursue God in “extraordinary” fashion that He might demonstrate His saving and transforming power in the lives of New Yorkers. “NOW Is The Time” to make an eternal difference!

Why Nehemiah? Nehemiah, a godly man of integrity employed in the court of a foreign king, is our spiritual model for “NOW Is The Time” in 2012. Social values across our region have eroded while the Church has faced opposition. The Book of Nehemiah reminds us of the need for the spiritual renewal of God’s people, the importance of prayer, and faith & action in the face of opposition.

United Prayer: Regional prayer rallies, a prayer leaders training, prayerwalks and visible displays of unity are scheduled (see dates below). Involve the ministries in your church in the activities that are being planned and/or host your own prayer initiatives during this season of prayer.

Scripture Engagement: Free 40-day reading planners and discussion guides for individuals, and sermon outlines for pastors are available for download by American Bible Society at www.UncoverTheWord.com/brick. Encourage your church to pray, engage scripture and watch for how God will speak with ‘one voice’ to His Church as we unite around the Book of Nehemiah.

Community Service: This Summer join service efforts, held in conjunction with Convoy of Hope, to make Christ visible and tangible in the neediest communities of the Bronx and Hempstead, Long Island. With the help of hundreds of volunteers free groceries, job and health fairs, and activities for children will be provided. In doing so, volunteers will receive an opportunity to connect with community members, and guests will be shown love and respect regardless of age, race, physical appearance, or spiritual condition.
